Humanitarian Bank Network

Traveling to Israel and working with Helping Hand Coalition, partners discovered that one quarter of Israelis are suffering from severe poverty on a daily basis and one in three children go to sleep hungry.

The Coalition is in the process of creating a project to combat hunger and social needs in Israel and to identify opportunities that would provide additional sources of humanitarian supplies. This will help to improve and expand the distribution network in collaboration with the various municipalities and groups. Helping Hand Coalition is developing relationships with political leaders, company executives and philanthropic organizations around the world to create the HHC Humanitarian Bank in Israel.

The most recent causes of the high poverty rate are significant demographic changes as well as a reduction of government pensions and support in many areas of society, due to the costs of war, regional turmoil and terrorism. The most vulnerable are under the greatest threat. Increasing numbers of the Bedouin’s have migrated to the urban areas in Israel in search of jobs and economic opportunities. There have been extremely large numbers of new immigrant populations into Israel as well as guest work programs, putting pressure on the job market. The “War in the North” caused an estimated one million people to evacuate their homes in northern Israel moving south in search of safety. Consequently, the war has placed serious demands on funds that have previously been available to assist in the fight against hunger.

HHC Humanitarian Bank will be one of the solutions to provide for the needs of Israel’s poor by collecting financial and gift-in-kind contributions from individuals, organizations, and companies, in the public and private sectors around the world. With the combined experience and expertise of the coalition, a solid plan of implementation has been developed for a humanitarian bank network.

HHC Humanitarian Bank provides a variety of unique, innovative, direct, cost-effective solutions to meet the humanitarian needs of the poor.
